July Wrap-Up!

Entrance Pose GIF - Entrance Pose Dramatic GIFs

I’m back!……..did anyone even realize I was gone? (probably not) But it’s a new month now! yaayyyyy ( –> totally not fake enthusiasm) I also think it’s a different season? it rained a couple of times but that could also be a result of global warming. Isn’t 2020 just swell?

So, my college started online classes now which is great because I don’t have to travel in highly crowded trains for 2 hours and die. Unfortunately but unsurprisingly, I’ve been a super unproductive blob (case in point: no posts last month) which I would especially not recommend being if you need to get a job in this economy.

It's Not an April Fool's joke this year

My days are usually filled with mind-numbing YouTube videos peppered with existential dread that I drown out with more YouTube videos.

BOOKS:

hahahah that’s cute, you thought I actually did something productive this month hahaha adorable. I read 2 books, on an unrelated note, I’m also resigning as a book blogger, this post is my final notice. So long and thanks for all the fish.

Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened The Princess Bride

Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh ★★.5: This book has ridiculously good ratings and I’m not sure why. It’s pretty much a stream of consciousness (and SO many dog anecdotes, y u make me jealous author??) for 300 pages. Apparently, the author is a blogger which makes so much sense, but the whole disconnected, sometimes mildly amusing stories just doesn’t translate well into a book for me. She did create this meme format though, so that’s cool.

When do we want it? | Funny pictures, Hyperbole and a half, Funny ...

The Princess Bride by William Goldman ★★★★: Read if you’re looking for: Fencing. Fighting. Torture. Poison. True love. Hate. Revenge. Giants. Hunters. Bad men. Good men. Beautifulest ladies. Snakes. Spiders. Beasts of all natures and descriptions. Pain. Death. Brave men. Coward men. Strongest men. Chases. Escapes. Lies. Truths. Passion. Miracles

BLOG:

aka definitive evidence I am trash.

June Wrap-Up!

…that’s it.

Goals:

Previous goals:

  • Take it sleazy : YES DONE.
  • But also (prepare to) get a job : Sorta? Placements haven’t actually started yet but I did one 3 hour course on Python and that’s still progress (right? right???)
  • Watch Hamilton out on Disney+ July 3 : (this was a cheat goal, I finished Hamilton before I posted last month’s wrap-up but small accomplishments make me happy let me live)

August Goals:

  • (try to) Reach 420 followers: Arguably the Biggest Milestone™ in a blogger’s journey. I get maybe 1 follow per post if I’m lucky, so I need to post…24 more times this month (engineering math skills come through)

LIFE STUFF:

  • I watched a couple of things-  Derry Girls (9/10 would recc) and Umbrella Academy S2 (the opening fight scene and the last scene was cool, Laia was cool, the rest was pretty much the same plot as S1, change my mind). Ok now that we got all the boring stuff out of the way LET’S TALK ABOUT FOLKLORE.
  • (please visualize the following text in all upper case, bold and underlined because I have no chill) Taylor Swift Really Did THAT huh. Constantly raising the bar for all of us and doing it flawlessly. I’ll probably make a full post worshiping  critiquing Folklore because that’s free content and also because T-Swift deserves more than 400 words. Current faves are Exile, August, Illicit Affairs, Hoax, Cardigan.

Hey no I noticed you were gone
I mean it sounds like we’re both in an Everything block ahahha literally the most productive I’ve been is watch Doctor Who. And that’s about it. YAYYYYYY
Ooh 420 followers would be so epic
YES online classes are the best!! But also simultaneously the worst!! Uhh I only listened to like 2 1/2 folklore songs but hey T Swift isn’t really my jam (tho what my jam is proves itself to be a mystery) but hey I’ll just say if you haven’t already listen to Seaside rendezvous by Queen bc Queen is literally the only thing I’ve been listening to this month so. JUST KEEP BEING AWESOME AND DON’T FORGET TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH!

That opening gif is amazing 😂 The Python course is definitely progress…reminds me that I started a Python online course and haven’t yet progressed beyond the first lesson…oops

I think my favourite song from ‘folklore’ is probably ‘invisible string’ or ‘august’ or ‘cardigan’ but honestly they’re all so good so it’s really futile trying to pick a top one 🤷🏻‍♀️
